Port-Hamiltonian modelling of fluid dynamics models with variable cross-section

چکیده

Many single- and multi-phase fluid dynamical systems are governed by non-linear evolutionary equations. A key aspect of these is that the typically flows across spatially temporally varying cross-sections. We, first, show not any choice state-variables may be apt for obtaining a port-Hamiltonian realization under cross-section. We propose modified then represent in representations. define representations spatial variation cross-section with respect to new proposed state-dependent extended Stokes- Dirac structure. Finally, we account temporal variations obtain suitable structure respects properties, such as, instance, property dissipation inequality.

Variable delay in scaled port-Hamiltonian telemanipulation

In several applications involving bilateral telemanipulation, master and slave robots act at different power scales (e.g. telesurgery, micromanipulation). Scaling forces and velocities means scaling the power that is exchanged between master and slave sides through the communication channel. In this paper we show how it is possible to embed power scaling in the scattering based communication ch...

Comparison of Heat Transfer Power of the Cooling Panel with Square Cross Section and Circular Cross Section in Electric Arc Furnaces Steelmaking by the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics

Steel pipes with circular cross-sections are usually used in cooling panels of electric arc furnaces. In the present study pipes with square cross-sections under equivalent conditions were used to obtain more information on the possibility of increasing the heat transfer and cooling efficiency. The results showed increased efficiency of the square pipe compared to the circular cross-section pip...

High-sensitivity detection using isotachophoresis with variable cross-section geometry.

We present a theoretical and experimental study on increasing the sensitivity of ITP assays by varying channel cross-section. We present a simple, unsteady, diffusion-free model for plateau mode ITP in channels with axially varying cross-section. Our model takes into account detailed chemical equilibrium calculations and handles arbitrary variations in channel cross-section. We have validated o...

Analytical Solution for Free Vibration of a Variable Cross-Section Nonlocal Nanobeam

In this article, small scale effects on free vibration analysis of non-uniform nanobeams is discussed. Small scale effects are modelled after Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity theory while the non-uniformity is presented by exponentially varying width among the beams length with constant thickness. Analytical solution is achieved for free vibration with different boundary conditions. It is shown th...

Discrete port-Hamiltonian systems

Either from a control theoretic viewpoint or from an analysis viewpoint it is necessary to convert smooth systems to discrete systems, which can then be implemented on computers for numerical simulations. Discrete models can be obtained either by discretizing a smooth model, or by directly modeling at the discrete level itself. One of the goals of this paper is to model port-Hamiltonian systems...
